Tao Uptown Menu: A Disappointing Experience

As we walked into Tao Uptown, memories of our previous great experience at this restaurant flooded my mind. Unfortunately, and I use that word for a reason, this was not the case this time. We were looking forward to trying out their Asian fusion dishes again, but unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations.

The poor service from the bartender completely ruined our experience. Despite being greeted by a listless staffer who showed us to the 'holding area', we were left waiting for what felt like an eternity before being seated. When I finally placed my order, the barman seemed irritated and uninterested in taking it, which was a stark contrast to the friendly service we had received during our previous visit.

The atmosphere of the restaurant lacked the energy it once had, and it seemed more geared towards bachelor parties than families or couples looking for a nice meal. The music was too loud and the decor felt outdated, giving off an overall feeling that the place had seen better days.

On the plus side, the food was good and well-flavored when it finally arrived. We tried to put the barman's bad manners out of our minds and focus on enjoying our meal, but it was difficult to do so given the subpar service we received.

Overall, Tao Uptown has had its day and feels badly managed. With so many other great options for Asian fusion in New York, I would not recommend this restaurant and advise others to avoid the bar area altogether. The overpriced menu only adds insult to injury, making it a disappointing experience from start to finish.
